O.K. I migrated my WordPress installation and other stuff to a new Server.
It doesn’t have much RAM and is pretty slow, so this is only a temporary solution.
The funny thing is that the site does now even load slower on this dedicated server, than it did when hosted on my home server at my flat with a DSL3000 link. There is something strange going on…

Yeah! It’s definitely not a network issue, but maybe HDD speed related. The server is located in Frankfurt and only 4 hops away from me with an average latency of less than 30ms, but even the homepage takes 14s to load…
It’s 2ms away from me (isn’t that a surprise? same building, another floor and 2ms
) and takes 6s to load

I tuned MySQL a bit. Site should load faster now. At least a little bit…
